Strange Space is a recorded performance piece in which the artist crosses a sulphurous desert land with bare feet and blinded eyes. It is inspired by classical folk and court tales typical of Mesopotamia, in which the hero, blinded by the love of the heroine, is condemned to wander in the desert trying to find her. In certain versions they finally meet, only to burst into flames and to die as a result of their burning passion.

One of the main concerns of Mesopotamian Dramaturgies series is the encounter of the traditional and the modern, their attraction toward each other, and the trauma caused by their encounter. In his performance, the artist uses this traditional narrative theme as a metaphor for this encounter.
